Overview: I ‘broke the shell’ in Dayton, OH on March 27, 1969. The son of Jack and Evelyn Adams, I graduated high school at Montcalm High School in Montcalm, WV and then went on to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering at Bluefield State University.
Growing up on a horse farm in rural West Virginia afforded me plenty of opportunity for enjoying the great outdoors where I played Tarzan in the trees, and Huck Finn on the Bluestone River which surrounds my folks’ 80+ acre farm where I would pole a flat bottom boat up the river, wade and swim.
In the wilds of my parents’ farm and surrounds, I learned to scale cliffs, shoot, ride horses and played ‘war’ with an arsenal of BB rifles and homemade toy guns manufactured from everything from wood planks to old car jacks (trust me – you can make an acceptable Bren LMG with some wood, PVC and an old-timey car jack).
Growing up without the benefit of cable and satellite I developed a love of reading early on. I devoured many of the classics of both ancient and modern literature, but finally settled into my favorite niche of great pulp writers of the early to mid-twentieth century, discovering authors such as H.P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, Edmond Hamilton, Robert A. Heinlein, Clark Ashton Smith, Abraham Merritt, Nictzin Dyalhis – and of course Edgar Rice Burroughs.
I am a guitarist, having been in an out of many bands since the late 80s. Besides reading, writing and jamming, I also enjoy collecting historic militaria including field gear, edged weapons and firearms of historic significance. Naturally, I appreciate reading and book collecting and, never needing much of an excuse to add another hobby, also study the German language.
I have been employed with ABB Inc. since 1992, having worked in the Engineering department in Mechanical engineering as a sheet metal designer and then later as a mechanical layout person. As of this writing I am a Senior Systems Engineer in IT.
I currently reside in Princeton, WV with my wife Melisa and our two children – Ashton and Ava.

The Valley of Despair (Science Fiction)
Lost in a savage Jungle…
When Lieutenant Erik von Mendelsöhn crashed his bi-plane into the jungle canopy during World War 1 he thought it was the end. But after surviving the terrific crash, he soon realizes his trials and travails have only just begun.
Now he is forced with surviving the terrors of a primitive world with no idea where lay the lines of the friendly forces he was attempting to reach when he set out in the middle of a stormy, overcast night on a mission of such import that his commander refused to allow him to await daybreak before taking flight.
Soon, however, Erik discovers there to be forces at work in the jungle infinitely more dangerous than the baboons and giant snakes with which he has contended since abandoning his wrecked Fokker when he discovers a mysterious prehistoric city, buried in a valley governed by the time-warp of a distant star – a star whose grim, gray inhabitants would make of him a thrall!
