10 Novels by Edward Kendrick
Requirements: .ePub Reader, 5.18mb
Overview: Born and bred Cleveland, I earned a degree in technical theater, later switched to costuming, and headed to NYC. Finally seeing the futility of trying to become rich and famous in the Big Apple, I joined VISTA, ending up in Chicago for three years. Then it was on to Denver where I put down roots and worked as a costume designer until just recently.
I began writing five years ago after joining an on-line fanfic group. Two friends and I then started a group for writers where they may post any story they wish, no matter the genre. I’ve now branched out into writing on my own, primarily m/m stories, both erotic and just ‘romantic’, for publication.
Genre: Romance, Suspense, MM
Revenge: When Jared’s brother Danny is murdered, Jared is the only suspect. He goes on the run, meeting Lang, an ex-cop, who offers to help Jared find the real killers. Will their attraction survive or are they the killers’ next victims?
When Jared’s brother Danny is murdered, Jared is the only suspect. The reason? While the murder happens, he’s in the hands of unknown kidnappers. Since the police don’t believe his alibi and he has no proof it happened, he goes on the run. When he meets Lang, an ex-cop, the man offers to help Jared find both the reason for Danny’s murder and the men who committed it.
They discover that Danny had apparently been blackmailing some very prominent people, three of whom become prime suspects in his death. But is he indeed the blackmailer or is there a second party involved?
With the help of Lang’s computer whiz sister, the two men set out to discover the answers while dealing with their growing attraction to each other. The question becomes, will they survive long enough to act on their feelings, or will they become the killers’ next victims?
Death, Love & Wednesday: When his sister, Carrie, is murdered, bookshop owner Myles Foster gains custody of her precocious five-year-old son, Simon. He also has to deal with the reappearance of his ex-lover, Zayne, a private detective. While trying to come to grips with both, another woman is murdered.
Myles–with the help of Mazie, Simon’s babysitter–learns to adjust to having a child in his life. Having Zayne back in his world is more problematic, since Zayne left Myles for a younger man. Slowly, but surely, Zayne tries to break down the walls between them as they attempt to figure out why Carrie was murdered and pass on their ideas to the detective in charge of the case.
Can the murderer be stopped before he kills again? And, more importantly, will Myles be able to cope not only with caring for Simon, but also learning to trust that Zayne might truly love him?
You Belong to Me: Corey Byrne loves his family—as long as he only has to see them once a year. Since he’s not out to them, it makes things… tense. Returning to his job at a homeless shelter after Christmas, he finds someone has left him a very expensive present. Soon, he begins to get messages from the anonymous gift giver. Then Corey’s friend Brad is murdered in Corey’s apartment and undercover detective Scott Reed is assigned to protect Corey. As they work together to find the killer, they realize they’re starting to care about each other. However Scott is unwilling to act on his feelings unless Corey comes out to his family and coworkers. As the threats from the stalker intensify, Corey is forced to admit that love is too precious to hide from. Perhaps now is the time to be honest about who he is and accept the possibility of love in return—before it’s too late.
Don’t Touch Me: Cody Paige is an author with a newly-developed fear of being touched. When he becomes a suspect in his mother’s murder–despite the fact she may be the victim of a serial killer–he hires PI Brent Harding to help prove his innocence.
Will Brent be able to help Cody discover the basis for his touch phobia? A necessity, as far as they are concerned, since they are attracted to each other. An attraction they won’t be able to act upon if they can’t even kiss without Cody suffering a panic attack.
Let Go of Loneliness: When Byron Randall — in his mid-fifties, single and alone — moves into a new condo complex, he meets another resident, fifty-five year old realtor Jonah Hyland — also single since his breakup with his much younger lover. The two middle-aged men become friends, sharing common interests in gardening and hiking.
As their friendship deepens, each man wonders if he has found someone he could learn to care for. Then Jonah’s ex reappears in his life, much to Byron’s dismay. Will this end Byron and Jonah’s budding romance? Or will they discover that, together, they can let go of loneliness?
Off on the Wrong Foot: Simon Jarrett is a well-known mystery writer. A play he wrote, based on one of his books, has been accepted by a local theater. Daniel Lowe is the theater’s costumer. The first time they meet–in the elevator of their apartment building–neither knows who the other is. Daniel thinks Simon is a snob, while Simon can only see Daniel as a clone of his abusive ex-lover, Carl–although a straight one, he thinks.
They meet again at the theater and both are appalled, to put it mildly, to find out they’ll be working together. Slowly, they begin to accept each other, but it isn’t until Allie, Simon’s friend, reveals to Daniel why Simon is so stand-offish that Daniel finally tells Simon he, too, is gay.
Will the two men be able to become more than friends, or will Carl’s coming back into Simon’s life drive them apart–or worse?
The Recluse: TV star Laird Wakefield died after a motorcycle accident–or so it was announced to the news outlets by his doctors. Not true. With his face horribly scarred, he has gone into total seclusion, living in what the townspeople call "the haunted mansion on the hill" for the past five years.
But that is about to change. On a dare from his brother, twenty-three-year-old Dev Pierson breaks into the mansion’s basement. When Laird catches him in the act, Dev is terrified at first when he sees Laird’s face and Rage, Laird’s huge guard dog. Much to Dev’s surprise, after he explains why he’s there, Laird invites him upstairs for a drink.
Slowly, a friendship develops between the two men. Then the question becomes, can Dev convince Laird to face his fears and end his reclusive existence? And if he makes the attempt, will Laird survive emotionally?
Ghostly Investigations: Jon Watts heard stories about ghosts but never believed in them … until he becomes one. Now, if he wants to move on, he has to solve his own murder.
At least he’ll have help from three new friends: Brody, an undercover cop who was killed five years earlier by an unknown assailant; Sage, a medium who can see and speak with ghosts; and Mike, the detective investigating Jon’s murder, who doesn’t know ghosts exist until Sage convinces him otherwise.
Will the four men solve both Brody’s and Jon’s murders? The possible attraction between Mike and Sage only complicates things. Or are Jon and Brody doomed to remain ghosts forever?
A Deadly Homecoming: When Spence Harden and Jeff, his writing partner and sometime lover, move into the house once owned by Spence’s murdered parents, they have no idea what awaits them. First, they discover someone is stealing items from them, but have no clue who, or why. And then the unthinkable happens. Jeff is killed and Spence is framed for his murder.
Crime reporter Gregg Rowe wants to help Spence clear his name. All Spence needs to do is decide if he believes Gregg, or if the man himself is the killer. Once Gregg convinces Spence he’s telling the truth, the pair set out to discover if there is a connection between Jeff’s murder and that of Spence’s parents ten years earlier … while fighting their growing attraction to each other.
The Agency: When runaway Kip Faulkner was seventeen, he witnessed two men commit a murder. Fear kept him from telling Sheriff Long the truth about what he’d seen. Guilt made him turn his life around. Eleven years later, he’s the owner of a reputable private investigation agency in Denver.
John Rigby looks like a typical biker, tattoos and all. But Kip discovers he’s the antithesis of that stereotype when he hires John to work for his agency.
When Kip learns about a recent killing exactly like the one he witnessed and recognizes one of the killers in a blurry photo on the news, he vows to find out how the two murders are connected … and if there have been more.
With John’s help, can he learn the truth behind the murders while the two men fight their mutual attraction? Or will Kip become the next victim?
