Taking the job, though, requires leaving the country, traveling under false passport and breaking early release. Going means never coming back. If caught, she’ll be the one thrown back into prison.
Mia is beguiling, quickly making Elise believe that she’s appreciated. Valued. Wanted.
Elise knows this woman can’t be trusted — she senses she’s being used — but the fragile child in her finds the attention intoxicating and is soon getting underfoot as Elise tries her damnedest to keep herself together long enough to get the job done.
