Overview: Turns out the gorgeous guy who witnessed me mackin’ down donuts at the farmers market wanted to buy my place of business out from under me. My bakery. Where I also live.
I’ll never let him buy it. The bakery is my mother’s last legacy.
But I’ll let Clayton Hale believe I won’t sell it to him because he’s an asshole. Which he is. The pretty boys always are.
Why the hell does he want my bakery, anyway? If he’s too good for everything else in town, does he even belong here at all? Yet, for some reason, he keeps showing up to pester me.
I doubt he’s ever had to struggle a day in his life.
My resolution is strong, which is obviously why I get wine drunk over our overly fancy five course business dinner and read him the riot act. And accidentally call him hot. Yikes.
The point of the dinner was to figure out how to do business in the same city without tearing each other’s heads off. I wanted to convert us to friendly neighbors, not grouchy rivals. And certainly not have an outburst of whatever that horny, angsty nonsense was.
Well I at least won’t give him what he wants on a silver platter. Unless it’s a piece of me, apparently.
Look, it’s been a really long time since I’ve had my muffin buttered. And once I get a taste of Clayton Hale, I realize I like him like I like my coffee. Constantly inside me.
