- "In order to prepare his master’s degree in eco-peacefully, a Parisian student chooses to be alone in the house of a friend in the open field. A trip to the depths of Britain which begins badly for Pauline yet. Arriving at the station of Val de Troudec the old 2CV left by his girlfriend just to start first and then running out of gas at 20 km from any village. Fortunately, she can count on two occasions with a Métis named Erwan. After pushing the "Deuch," the friendly young man will also save him a cold night in the borrowed car by offering the lodging. Once warm, she discovers the strange interest that his guest to an old book of spells dealing with the "little people". At the dawn of a statutory holiday, stuck in the middle of nowhere to gauge dry, she decides to accompany her to Host Master Cristo. The meeting with this old blind man who lives alone in a small hut will open her eyes and sweep his skepticism about the beliefs of Erwan. Although there is a parallel world to ours: a different space-time when waiting for a task of utmost importance.
The release of a new series of Regis Loisel never goes unnoticed in the "small world" the ninth art. So when one who is often recognized as the initiator of the heroic fantasy French gratifies readers almost simultaneously in three publications (General Store,Quest for the Bird of TimeandThe Great Death), The bédéphiles rejoice. Also, how not to be tempted to zyeuter this album beyond this beautiful blanket invitation to sneak in the middle of the field a red idyllic? A visual delight that continues within this volume with a remarkable job from Vincent Mallié (Aquanauts). With a thin line and stylish, it delivers a very nice design, no doubt influenced by the style of his co-author. The characters are engaging and beautifully sketched the landscapes very neat and the whole is enhanced by the shimmering in colorization François Lapierre (General Store,Quest for the Bird of Time), Which helps to visually differentiate the two worlds described in this fantastic tale.
Tears Beepropose to follow two characters are total opposites: a city with a strong temperament, clumsy, annoying and Cartesian, and a native more reserved, conscientious and thoughtful. Two opposing players to characters, slightly caricatured, which constantly echoes the duality: the border between reality and fantasy, the town deal with the nature, culture shock and the contrast between Pauline and Erwan. Unfortunately, this introductory volume that reveals an enchanting world attractive based on elements already used many times and purpose of the expedition in the heart of this imaginary world still could not be more vague. Thus, the scenario Loisel and Djian (Late at night) Has the aftertaste of too little.
An establishment full of fresh, visually very successful, but whose history has not yet agreed rather off."
