1. AWOL at Ala Moana
After losing her job, Maile Spencer needs money in a hurry. Setting aside her ego to work for her brother-in-law, she gets a job as a tour guide in her hometown of Honolulu. On her first day, Maile realizes the tourists know more about world famous island sights than she does. Once their attention drifts, the trouble starts. When the drunk in the tour group staggers off, Maile goes in search of him. What she finds is a dead man next to a dumpster–and the knowledge that she’s the worst tour guide ever. She’d simply like to walk away from the drama, until she feels the clasp of handcuffs on her wrists. Join Maile as she contends with her impending divorce, getting her real job back, sketchy characters with shady pasts, and her Hawaiian heritage that rules her life!

2. Baffled at the Beach
Maile wants to put her first week as tour guide behind her by sleeping in. She doesn’t get the chance, though, because she has a skin diving tour to give at famous Hanauma Bay. Her trouble starts with the rescue of a suspicious man that nearly drowns. Detective Ota cares less about him and more about an ancient Hawaiian artifact stolen from a museum, and quickly recruits Maile to help with the investigation. She cuts him a deal, that she’ll help with his case if he helps her find the $5000 that has disappeared from her little apartment in Honolulu. By the end of the week, several investigations have been conducted, secrets are discovered and promptly hidden again, Maile goes for a late night swim in a swamp, and no one gets much sleep!

3. Coffee in the Canal
Trickery and deceit in a mini-skirt. When tour guide Maile Spencer eases her kayak into the Ala Wai Canal, it’s for a day of fun in the sun and to help clean junk from the famous waterway. What she never expects is to find a small fortune that belongs to no one, to cross paths with ladies in tight clothes from faraway lands, or to get tangled in the net of underworld crime. And then there’s the cops that always seem to be snooping through her life. By the time she’s done sneaking around town late at night looking for the bad guys that are looking for her, she’s not sure if she’s chasing after the criminals, or if they’re chasing her. It takes a trip to the zoo to figure it all out. Did I mention Maile spends the night in the honeymoon suite in a Waikiki hotel? (And not with her husband!)
