Overview: I have never met a dragon. Never even seen one. But wish I had. They fascinate me, so I decided to construct a mental world where they coexist with people. Most of my books are about them, and I call the people the Dragon Clan.
A book called DRAGON! started it. While similar to the Dragon Clan Series, it set up the idea of how to live and survive in a world where dragons are part of the landscape without resorting to cartoonish dragons or creatures as intelligent and conniving as people. The next hurdle was to keep the stories coming fast enough to satisfy the readers.
The book called the Blade of Lies was a finalist in an Amazon national novel writer’s contest, although under another name. It survives with humor, a medieval setting, and the idea that good guys do win. It is worth the read.

1. Stealing the Egg
Gareth is warned by night whispers to flee from his tiny mountain village of Dun Mare. The stolen egg of a dragon will pay his way, if he manages to live long enough to sell it. However there are forces against him far beyond his understanding. All he believes he knows about his life and home is false, but the egg of the black dragon is the key. Many believe black dragons do not exist or have gone extinct. Gareth finds himself alone in a strange world of tempest seas, flying dragons, and powerful foes vying for the mental powers he may possess, and for control of the egg. Telepathic teachers a secret sisterhood, and the king’s armies willing to kill for a black dragon are only the beginning of Gareth’s story.
2. Revenge
After thirty years of peaceful living on Bitters Island Gareth is struck down, his mind attacked, and he is nearly killed. His father is also attacked and found dead but he managed to send Gareth one last message of warning. Gareth and his black dragon sail to the mainland and find what has happened. There they discover a warped mind every bit as powerful as Gareth and the foe who is after Gareth–and everyone else. He must go after the very source of all mental powers, to the head of the Brotherhood. Gareth must make an alliance with the Brotherhood, Sisterhood, and the King. To complicate matters more, Gareth finds his Grandson has powers equal to, or greater, than his and must take him along.
