Overview: Sylvie Bancroft is a beautiful, hot-shot software engineer in her mid-twenties, with an expired license in her man-hunting credentials.
Rob Turlock is handsome, charming, and flashy.
Is he the man of her dreams, or a creature out of her nightmares…?
Sylvie has just finished a major gig for a well-paying customer. As she banks her large check and strides out of the bank, ready for a week of rest and relaxation in her San Diego paradise, she meets Mr. Turlock, who presents himself as if he had been reading her mind.
Except in the tightly controlled universe of computer programming, nothing ever turns out exactly as we plan. For one thing, San Diego’s sunny weather chooses to be dark, rainy, and stormy. El Nino is not the only thing on the loose.
The handsome and talented Mr. Turlock pops up out of nowhere, smiling and irresistible. He invites Sylvie to visit his mansion overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and a whole lot of other wonders that are too true to be good.
If Sylvie just said no and kept walking past Rob, you would not be reading this story. As it turns out, after some feeble resistance, Sylvie cannot say no to his charms.
What comes next is what we call–in the lingo of programmers, which Sylvie knows all too well–an ABEND. That’s an Abnormal Ending. Also known as a Crash. Or a Fatal Error.
Call it what you will, there is no chance of recovery–unless you run for you life and hope you are faster than Mr. Turlock–who is very, very fast in so many fascinating ways. And he never stops smiling. At least, until the system goes down and everything goes dark.
This is a nonstop ride through hell and back. Hell is guaranteed. Back not so much.
Hang on tight. Scream if you must.
Sylvie is too out of breath to make a sound.
White knuckles all the way…

Download 2 Books by Paul Fleischman (.ePUB)(.MOBI)

2 Books by Paul Fleischman (Bull Run & Zap)
Requirements: ePUB/MOBI Reader, 4.88 MB
Overview: Paul Fleischman grew up in Santa Monica, California. The son of well-known children’s novelist Sid Fleischman, Paul was in the unique position of having his famous father’s books read out loud to him by the author as they were being written. This experience continued throughout his childhood.
Paul followed in his father’s footsteps as an author of books for young readers, and in 1982 he released the book "Graven Images", which was awarded a Newbery Honor citation.
In 1988, Paul Fleischman came out with "Joyful Noise: Poems for Two Voices", an unusually unique collection of poetry from the perspective of insects. This book was awarded the 1989 John Newbery Medal. Factoring in Sid Fleischman’s win of the John Newbery Medal in 1987 for his book "The Whipping Boy", Paul and Sid Fleischman became to this day the only father and son authors to both win the John Newbery Medal.
Genre: Children / Young Adult / Humour

Bull Run
Newbery Medalist Paul Fleischman’s fictional treatment of this Civil War battle is an intimate and sweeping portrait of this period in human history.
Northerners, Southerners, generals, couriers, dreaming boys, and worried sisters describe the glory, the horror, the thrill, and the disillusionment of the first battle of the Civil War.
Supports the Common Core State Standards.

Zap
Aimed at a generation of short attention spans and a taste for razor-sharp comedy, the rapid-fire ZAP is a smart, farcical new play for high-school students that’s ready to bring the house down.
When they’re not dusting off the old classics — over and over — high-school drama departments are constantly in search of new material. But what play could possibly suit the point-and-click attention spans of kids born with remote controls in their cribs? Cue the lights for ZAP, a nonstop farce that juxtaposes seven different plays — performed simultaneously — with a comic genius reminiscent of masters from Monty Python to the Marx Brothers. Combining spot-on parodies of Anton Chekhov, Agatha Christie, Tennessee Williams, Samuel Beckett, Neil Simon and performance art and throwing in scenes from RICHARD III for good measure, ZAP flicks rapidly back and forth from play to play, with hilarious results. As characters from one play end up on the set of another, their befuddlement, exasperation, and brave attempts at improvisation are truly priceless. A hoot to read, ZAP is a dream to perform — as high schools in California, New York, and Florida have already discovered.
